Young Carers Awareness and Celebration Day

07 Feb, 2019

On Thursday 31st January, Eastbrook school celebrated the work of our Young Carers. These amazing young people take responsibility for the care and support of the adults and siblings around them. This is a very demanding and challenging role to take on at such a young age and we wanted to show them how much we value and admire the contribution they make to the lives of their loved ones.

The whole school wore a yellow ribbon to show their support and the young carers enjoyed a special lunch with Mr Frith, Mr Gillard and members of the Governing body –  Thanks to Khan and the catering team for their efforts.

Finally, I should let everyone know that the school raised £800 for the Young Carers cause, which will go towards giving them some of the life experiences that many of us take for granted. It was another day that made me very proud to be the Headteacher at Eastbrook, and I want to thank all the students, parents and staff who contributed towards making it such a memorable day.
